Euro Trip - Part 2 - Dublin

So at the end of my last post I said that we flew from London to Barcelona....I lied!  We flew from London to Dublin then to Barcelona so this post will be on the days we spent in Dublin.  And it won't be anywhere near as long as the last post probably.

On the first day we arrived, checked into our backpackers and headed straight to the Jameson Factory to do a little tour.  I know traditionally you are meant to go to the Guinness Factory when in Dublin but I hate Guinness and I can stomach Jameson so we went there instead.  It was really interesting and our guide was hilarious!!!  Afterwards I made everyone go to the Leprechaun Museum cause I thought it would be fun and I was right.  There was a tunnel you walked down at the start which turned you into a leprechaun and then you go to explore a human house while being the size of a leprechaun.  Our guide told us stories about leprechauns and old Irish folklore which was really cool.  And we got to draw pictures at the end to hang in their gallery.  After that we just headed back to the Temple Bar district where we were staying and had dinner and a few drinks.

The next day we headed down to Trinity College to have a look around but I didn't take any photos.  It is an amazing old setting for a college and was lovely to wander around.  I am pretty sure if my university was that pretty I would have attended more classes :P  After that we spent pretty much the whole day shopping and then went to a pub for dinner that had some amazing bands playing and we ended up staying out and having quite a party.  We waited out till midnight so it clicked over to Hayley's birthday and go an Irish band to sing her Happy Birthday.  Oh and we got to meet a leprechaun!!!

The following day was St Patrick's Day and also Hayley's birthday so we set out early for a full Irish breakfast before wandering the streets to check out the festivities.  We spent a while wandering around checking out the people before settling into a spot to watch the parade.  It was really good but hard to see much cause of the crowds but afterwards we retired to a pub and saw it on television on the delayed telecast.  I also managed to get a few photos over the heads of the people in front of me.  That night we went out again but I didn't take my camera so no photos sadly.

The next morning we had an early flight to Barcelona so we were up and out the door quite early to get to the airport.  And the next post will be on our few days in Barcelona.  Stay tuned.....
